Dr. Nicola Mallia, Chairperson
Nicola graduated as a lawyer 14 years ago. She is specialized in the field of European, commercial and corporate law and is currently the head of legal and compliance of an electronic money institution licensed in Malta.
Nicola has also formed part of a team of legal advisors under the Jesuit Refugee Service, providing pro bono legal advice to asylum-seekers.
Dr. Michael Ellul Sullivan, Board Member
Michael is a Maltese Lawyer specialised in Banking and Finance and currently works as Head Legal with Nemea Bank plc. He has been practicing in the field of financial services for 10 years.
Michael has been involved in voluntary work for over 8 years, particularly in projects assisting the poor, the sick, and persons with disabilities.
Dr. Michael Camilleri, Board Member
Michael Camilleri studied law at the University of Malta graduating LL.D. in 2003. He subsequently read for a Master of Arts in Human Rights & Democratisation also at the University of Malta. Michael was called to the Bar in June 2004 and since 2005, he has collaborated with the Jesuit Refugee Service Malta offering legal advice to refugees and asylum seekers and filing human rights cases in the Courts of Malta and the European Court of Human Rights.
Since 2006, Michael has worked as legal aid lawyer for appeal claims for refugee appeals in front of the Refugee Appeals Board. Between 2008 and 2015, he worked as a judicial assistant at the Courts of Malta. He also lectures at the University of Malta.
