aditus foundation and The Critical Institute are inviting applications for the positions of Project Research Officer and Project Data Officer to provide services in the project Access To Legal Assistance – Mapping the availability of legal assistance for the protection of fundamental rights in Malta (ATLAS).

The ATLAS project aims to take stock of the availability of legal assistance for the protection of fundamental rights in Malta. The project is composed of a number of components with mixed methodologies that draw on various areas of expertise, including:

  1. Research
    1. Mapping the availability of human rights legal assistance in the form of legal aid, in various sectors (e.g. labour, immigration, asylum, social assistance, housing, discrimination);
    2. Mapping Malta’s obligations to provide legal assistance under various legal instruments at the UN, EU and CoE levels.
  2. Capacity-Building
    1. Training stakeholders on legal frameworks regarding the obligation to legal assistance, on pro bono services for clients and on relevant fundamental human rights considerations.
  3. Development of Materials
    1. The development of user-friendly fact sheets on legal procedures available to access fundamental rights protection in Malta.
