New Team Members for 2023

The new year presents us with new challenges but also with new opportunities for growth! Whilst 2023 will see us saying farewell to Alexis and Mireille, who were both key members of our legal team, it also ushers in changes for existing team members and welcomes new ones.

We welcome Dr. Kirsten Gatt, a maltese advocate, who joins our team as Legal Officer. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree in 2017, and subsequently, read for a Master of Advocacy at the University of Malta and was admitted to the Maltese bar in 2019. As a Legal Officer, forming part of our Pro Bono Unit, she provides legal services to clients including information, referrals and follow-ups.

Furthermore, Marine who first joined aditus as a legal intern in 2021, will move on from her role as Case Officer and will now take on a more challenging role as Junior Legal Officer. She assists clients with legal matters relating to asylum and migration, including detention-related matters.

Finally, but just as importantly, we welcome Wasekera Banda who joins us from the University of Galway, Ireland, where she is currently in her third year of  BA Human Rights. Waskera will support the aditus team in their legal and advocacy work. She is passionate about promoting human rights through advocacy work, with particular interests in womens, refugee and LGBTQ+ rights.
