On Friday 27th and Saturday 28th June, Neil Falzon was in Athens to attend a networking meeting for Mediterranean NGOs working directly or indirectly with LGBTI issues.  Several NGOs were present from Malta, Albania, Turkey, Cyprus (North and South) and Greece, meeting with the aim of discussing common concerns and suggesting ways of cooperating effectively.  The meeting was also attended by representatives of ILGA Europe.

aditus is becoming increasingly active in LGBTI issues, as evidenced in its public support of Joanne Cassar’s judicial battle for the recognition of the right of transgender persons to marry and also in its recent public condemnation of statements regarding ‘conversion’ of homosexuality.  As a minority group with limited access to its fundamental human rights, LGBTI persons clearly fall within aditus’ interest area.
